Woven cable stitch

Woven cable stitch forms a fabric that looks like it has been weaved. It's a relatively simple cable stitch, and is a good stitch to use for cushion covers or maybe a blanket.

Abbreviations:

k = knit

p = purl

st = stitch

C4B = Cable 4 Back (slip 2 stitches on to the cable needle and hold to the back of your work, knit 2 stitches and then knit the 2 stitches from your cable needle)

C4F = Cable 4 Front (slip 2 stitches on to the cable needle and hold to the front of your work, knit 2 stitches and then knit the 2 stitches from your cable needle)

Cast on in multiples of 4st

 

Row 1: *C4F, repeat from * to end

Row 2: p to end

Row 3: k2, *C4B, repeat from * to last 2st, k2

Row 4: p to end

Repeat these four rows for pattern.
