Purl twist stitch

Purl twist stitch forms a fabric with a great texture. If you know how to purl two together you'll master this stitch easily! It's a repeating pattern over four rows.

Abbreviations: k = knit, p = purl, p2tog = purl two together, st = stitch

Instructions:

Cast on an even number of stitches

Row 1 (right side): k to end

Row 2: *p2tog but leave the two stitches on your left-hand (holding needle), p into the first stitch again, and then slip both stitches from your holding needle. You have not increased or decreased the number of stitches overall. Repeat from * to end.

Row 3: k to end

Rows 4: p1, *p2tog but leave the two stitches on your left-hand (holding needle), p into the first stitch again, and then slip both stitches from your holding needle. Repeat from * to last st, p1.

Repeat these four rows for pattern.
