If you have never tried colour-work before this is great pattern to try it for the first time. It doesn't take too long to knit because it uses a thick yarn, maybe four or five evenings of work. You can even do an Ikea hack if you don't fancy making the fabric part of the cushion cover - this is all explained in the pattern.
I was inspired to design this cushion whilst browsing through the latest interior design magazines. The modern rustic design is up to date and brings a cosy feel to your home. I saw a really cute black and cream earthenware jug in one magazine with a very similar pattern this, and my idea was born!
This is a knitting and sewing pattern to make your own cushion cover. It has a knitted front cover and a fabric back with a zipper opening so you can fill it with a cushion pad. You can also do an Ikea hack if you don't want to make the fabric part of the cushion cover - this is all explained in the pattern.
This is not a finished product. You need to buy the yarn and fabric to make your own.
I used The Petite Wool by We Are Knitters to knit the front of the cushion. I used two colours of yarn, black and cream. And an olive green velvet fabric for the rest of the cover.
