Impress your friends and family with this unique knitted cushion, and watch their jaws drop when they realise you've made it yourself! It is a statement piece for your home, on trend with the latest modern rustic interior design fashion.

Feel proud and satisfied that you've created something stunning and individual with your own hands! And you can make it in any colours you like to ensure it is truly one of a kind!

If you have never tried colour-work before this is great pattern to try it for the first time. It doesn't take too long to knit because it uses a thick yarn, maybe four or five evenings of work. You can even do an Ikea hack if you don't fancy making the fabric part of the cushion cover - this is all explained in the pattern.

I was inspired to design this cushion whilst browsing through the latest interior design magazines. The modern rustic design is up to date and brings a cosy feel to your home. I saw a really cute black and cream earthenware jug in one magazine with a very similar pattern this, and my idea was born!

This is a knitting and sewing pattern to make your own cushion cover. It has a knitted front cover and a fabric back with a zipper opening so you can fill it with a cushion pad. You can also do an Ikea hack if you don't want to make the fabric part of the cushion cover - this is all explained in the pattern.

This is not a finished product. You need to buy the yarn and fabric to make your own.

I used The Petite Wool by We Are Knitters to knit the front of the cushion. I used two colours of yarn, black and cream. And an olive green velvet fabric for the rest of the cover.
